three’s company (and three hunka lunkas)

no, no my friends,

i am not referring to three george hunkas, rather, to three hunka lunka piana players! that’s ‘three piano players’ in laymans terms. and let me tell you, they will keep you company. zing! if you haven’t heard about three pianos (playing at the ontological no doubt), you’ve been living under a larger rock than i’ve been!

seriously, don’t walk–run! to get your tix. ok, i know that sounds hyperbolic. and it is. but with good reason. three pianos is both hilarious and heartbreaking and leaves viewers with good stuff to chew on for days to come. plus, there aren’t just pianos played. there are other instrumenti (but don’t want to ruin any deliscious surprises the hunka lunkas throw your way) … ooh and red wine is passed around the audience to, you know, ‘engender community’… whatever that is! didn’t those taylor mac people make that joke with their revenge? hmm. those downtown drama kings and queens sure have a funny idea of ‘community.’

and speaking of a community i won’t be partaking in…. that would  be radiohole‘s current show at ps 122, let’s say it left a pal of the kipster feeling overwhelmingly underwhelmed. not to mention the rancor of aforementioned pal, who was dismayed when, on opening night, she was sprayed with red jello shots! not cute. esp. since pal was wearing white jeans. (now who in her right mind wears white jeans… in winter… in new york!?) some people, pals included, are beyond me.

anyhoozle, i hear asleep at the wheel, a mini-musical about the dark heart of not-for-profits and the sleepy souls who run them, will be having it’s 10-minute premiere at dixon place‘s ‘little theatre’ next monday, mar. 8 at 8pm. consider yourselves warned!
